Great site you have here. Lots of interesting nautical information. I like the Algoport coverage. I co-authored the book you mentionned on her. Thanks for noticing the personal history my brother and I created. Look forward to visiting your site more often.

Dear Martin,
Great site, loved the report about the dropped exhaust valve Wartsila 12V46, Had the same on the last ship (9L46), only this was the main engine (only main engine), took abt 20 hrs to get the engine running with 4 persons, while drifting to the spanish coast. Damaged liner, piston, turbocharger (overhauled 2 days later).

Martin,
I was surfing the web for no cost trade marine trad magazines and somehow stumbled upon your web site. I am amazed by the quality and depth of the site. And this as a "second" job. Keep up the good work and soon g-captain will have a valid rival.

Welcome to the, again, new Ship's Logbook at Martin's Marine Engineering Page - www.dieselduck.net. In the past it was hosted by a number of other service provider, but now we have migrated this service onto our own servers, saving you from uneccesary spam or useless advertising.
Come on, don't be shy, leave a "hello".
